World Series 2019 Betting Odds
The 2019 starts in Houston on Tuesday night, with the Astros hosting the Washington Nationals. The Nationals cruised through the St. Louis Cardinals to their first World Series appearance. They now face a tougher test against the Houston Astros, who look to capture their second title in three years. Hard to not like the Astros with their pitching staff in this series, with Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander in the midst of two of the best seasons in recent memory.
World Series betting odds are open on who will win the 2019 World Series. There are other MLB 2019 World Series odds and markets open for betting, as well.

Current World Series Odds
- Houston Astros -213
- Washington Nationals +175
World Series Prediction
With both teams coming into the series healthy and on a roll, this Word Series should entertain with dynamic pitching. The Houston Astros, with Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander and Zach Grienke, have the best starting rotation in the Majors and maybe one of the greatest trios in the history of the league.
The three starters, especially Gerrit Cole right now, can be unhittable on any given night. While the Washinton Nationals can counter with Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg, the rest of their pitching staff, especially the bullpen, is worse than the Astros.
The Astros also have the better lineup, with Jose Altuve, Alex Bergman and Yuli Gurriel providing pop and poise at the plate. The Nationals counter with Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto, but outside of those, they may not have enough firepower to deal with Houston’s pitching.
The lengthy time off to for the Nationals could see them a little rusty in their first game in Houston. If they get off to a slow, which is possible against Houston’s pitching, the Nationals World Series dreams may end sooner than later.
Pick: Houston Astros (-213) to Win the 2019 World Series
How Long will the Series Last?
- Game 4 +600
- Game 5 +235
- Game 6 +215
- Game 7 +175
One betting option available on the 2019 World Series is how long the series will last. Historically, over the last 20 years, the series has lasted four games five times (although only once since 2006), five games six times, six games three times and lasted all seven games on six occasions.
While the odds on a sweep are the most attractive, four-game series are increasingly uncommon in the World Series. What is more surprising is the lack of six-game series. With only three occurrences in the last 20 years, it is a surprisingly risky bet.
That leaves five and seven games, with us leading towards betting on five games. The Houston Astros are the better team in this series, and seeing them pick up their second World Series in five games looks like the most likely course of action.
Cole and Verlander each get a chance to start two games, with a 3-1 record between the two the likely outcome. Grienke picks up one win for the Astros between the Verlander and Cole starts, and the Astros win in five.
Pick: Game 5 (+235) End of the 2019 World Series
Also, if you like the Series to end and five games and the Astros to win the World Series, then placing that bet at +400 is a great value.
The Astros won in seven games in 2017, but that came against a Los Angeles Dodgers team that held home-field advantage and trotted out a deeper roster than the Nationals have.
Pick: Houston Astros to Win Series 4-1 (+400)
World Series MVP Pick
Entering the World Series, no baseball player is drawing more praise and buzz then Gerrit Cole. Cole is unhittable these playoffs, striking out 32 batters with an ERA of 0.40 in three starts. His stats these playoffs, alongside his 326 strikeouts in the regular season, have Cole as the favourite to win World Series MVP.
Cole will likely get two starts in the World Series, one at home and one on the road. If he can twirl another gem, he will likely earn himself the MVP, as well as a boatload of money this offseason.
Pick: Gerrit Cole (+650) to Win World Series MVP
