Super Bowl 2020 Betting Odds and Betting Picks

Super Bowl 2020 Betting Odds and Betting Picks

With Super Bowl 54 quickly approaching, bettors and fans are gearing up for the biggest betting event of the year. The Super Bowl offers more betting odds and markets than any other event and is the most-watched event in North America every year. To help Canadian bettors, we have searched Super Bowl betting odds for the best bets to make on the big game, which kicks off at 6:30 PM EST on February 2.

Super Bowl odds are open for betting on the big game. The Super Bowl offers an unprecedented amount of betting options for casual and sharp bettors to enjoy. Below are the most popular betting odds on the Super Bowl, with Super Bowl prop bets 2020 highlighted later.

Super Bowl Odds 2020

Super Bowl Moneyline

  • Kansas City Chiefs -124
  • San Francisco 49ers +103

Super Bowl Point Spread

  • Kansas City Chiefs -1.5 (-110)
  • San Francisco 49ers +1.5 (-110)

Super Bowl Over/Under

  • Over 55.0 (-115)
  • Under 55.0 (-105)

Super Bowl Moneyline Pick

Odds to win the Super Bowl 2020 are now open, with the Kansas City Chiefs getting a slight edge on the moneyline. The Chiefs offence is where they are getting the nod over the San Francisco 49ers, who got to the Super Bowl through their stout defence and a great running game.

Both teams are oozing with speed on the offensive side of the ball, capable of turning small plays into big games. The Chiefs, with Mahomes, stretch the field better and are the best team in the National Football League at hitting on big plays.

The 49ers get the edge on defence, although the Chiefs unit is playing very effectively over the last few weeks. The group limited Derrick Henry to 69 yards rushing in the AFC Championship. Henry had previously averaged 196 rushing yards in his last three games.

That game is part of a six-game stretch where the Chiefs are only allowing 89.2 rushing yards per game. That number is a vast improvement from the Chiefs’ first 12 games this season when they allowed teams to rush for an average of 141.3 yards per game.

The 49ers need their running game to be effective if they have a chance to win against the Chiefs. While Jimmy Garoppolo has had moments this year, his eight-pass stat line in the NFC Championship slightly suggests the 49ers do not have faith in him to win a big game.

Against a team like the Chiefs, they will need their quarterback to make plays and move the ball. While Garoppolo could have some effective drives, if the Chiefs defence stops or slows the running game and Mahomes gets hot, the 49ers will not be able to match the Chiefs score-for-score.

Take the Chiefs to win their first Super Bowl in 50 years and for Mahomes to be officially crowned the new face of the NFL.

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs (-124) to win Super Bowl LIV

Super Bowl Over/Under Pick

Although the 49ers field arguably the best defence in the NFL and the Chiefs unit has been improving (and getting healthy), the over 55.0 points are the better bet to make on Super Bowl 54.

The Chiefs’ offence has looked unstoppable in the playoffs. Patrick Mahomes has just put together two of the best playoffs starts in NFL history. Mahomes has 8-0 passing touchdown to inception ratio in the Chiefs two wins, leading the team to average 43.0 points in those wins.

On the other side, is a 49ers offence putting up extraordinary numbers, despite limited production from their passing attack? The 49ers have scored at least 26 points in four straight games and topped 34 points in five of their last nine games. The 49ers, like the Chiefs, have speed all over the field, making them capable of scoring quickly and often.

Historical data also suggests a high scoring Super Bowl. In the last seven Super Bowls, five have featured at least 50 points, and three have gone over 55 points total.

Pick: Over 55.0 (-115)

Super Bowl Prop Bets 2020

Where betting on the Super Bowl gets fun is with all the Super Bowl prop bets available. We highlight some of the best options below from the dozens of prop bets available on the game.

Best Super Bowl Player Prop Bet

As mentioned early, Patrick Mahomes is playing out of his mind, and for the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, they will need that trend to continue. Mahomes, with the extra week and great weather in Miami, should be well-prepared to put up monster numbers. Mahomes has been fantastic in his NFL playoffs career, throwing 11 touchdowns and 1188 yards in four starts. He also has yet to throw a pick in the playoffs, on 142 passing attempts.

Also, quarterbacks historically win the Super Bowl MVP award more often than any other position. Since 2007, the Super Bowl MVP award has gone to a quarterback nine times out of 13 (69.2%).

Pick: Patrick Mahomes to Win Super Bowl MVP (+100)

Best Super Bowl Team Prop Bet

One of the bets offering some high Super Bowl Vegas odds is on each team scoring in every quarter (touchdown or field goal). At +500, there is plenty of value on this bet, with both teams offences looking great entering the Super Bowl. Both teams of enough speed to score quickly, and with great tight ends able to extend drives, it is reasonable to expect each side to score in every quarter.

Pick: Yes – Both Teams to Score in Every Quarter (+500)

Best Super Bowl Specialty Prop Bet

While we expect the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, hedging a bunch of Kansas City Chiefs bets with some good odds on San Francisco is a reasonable betting strategy. For the hedge, taking the 49ers to win the coin toss and win the game is a good bet. Online sportsbooks are offering Super Bowl betting value on this bet, meaning bettors do not need to wager too much to make a profit if the 49ers pull off the double-win.

Pick: Yes, Coin Toss Winner Wins Game – San Francisco 49ers (+310)
