Nearly two years later, Colby Covington gets another shot at Kamaru Usman and the UFC Middleweight Championship. Their first fight was considered one of the best of 2019 – going into the fifth round with Usman winning by TKO (punches) with only fifty seconds remaining.

The betting lines from the best UFC sportsbooks give the edge to Kamaru Usman in the rematch. Usman is the top-ranked men’s pound-per-pound fighter in the UFC. He is riding a 14-fight winning streak, with his last fight at UFC 261, a dominant win by knockout against Jorge Masvidal.

UFC 268 Fight Predictions

Usman is getting better with age. He has evolved his game as a striker to include better countering and power. He now has won three of his last four fights by KO/TKO (a change from eight wins by decision in his previous nine fights).

Usman’s improvement as a striker does not bode well for Covington in the rematch. Covington engaged in much more striking than expected in their first fight – when Usman was not considered as good in a stand-up affair. Covington also only has one fight since fighting Usman at UFC 245 – beating a declining Tyron Woodley in the fifth round last September.

Covington is in trouble in the rematch. Bet on Usman to extend his winning streak to 15 fights and retain the UFC Middleweight Championship.

Co-Main Event: Weili Zhang and Rose Namajunas Renew Hostilities for Women’s Strawweight Championship

Another rematch headlines UFC 268 – as Rose Namajunas looks to retain the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship against Weili Zhang. Namajunas beat Zhang in only one minute eighteen seconds into their title fight at (which we predicted at UFC 261) – landing a devastating high kick to the head that dropped Zhang like a tree. It was a quick and impressive result to end Zhang’s run as Straw Champion.

Zhang is not going to let the same thing happen to her in the rematch. Zhang won 21 straight fights heading into UFC 261 – yet a five-second blunder ended her streak like the snap of a finger. So, is Zhang winning the fight or is Namajunas the better bet to retain the title?

UFC 268 Betting picks

The mistake at UFC 261 could cause Zhang to fight a little less aggressively than she normally does. That could hurt her in scoring points and lower her opportunities at knocking down Namajunas. Zhang can do well if she knocks down opponents – as she has seven wins by submission. However, she only has one successful takedown in her UFC career.

Namajunas' win against Jessica Andrade at UFC 251 is another positive. In the first fight against Andrade, she did not strategize correctly against a stronger fighter. In the rematch, she fought much better and pulled out a win by decision. Zhang is a stronger fighter than Namajunas. However, if she is not able to get the fight close, she will not have the chance to use the power to win.

Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje Betting Preview

Two-ranked lightweights are set for fireworks at UFC 268 – with Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje meeting in what many view as the most exciting fight of the night. Gaethje is the favourite heading in, thanks to his advantage in height and excellent takedown defence.

Justin Gaethje is an excellent striker, who will use his height and reach with his legs to keep Michael Chandler at a distance for much of the fight. Chandler will try to get the fight in close – but thanks to Gaethje's excellent takedown defence, Chandler will find it hard to get Gaethje to the ground (where he can unleash his power).

Both fighters should be aggressive – although Chandler has less room for error. Chandler also has not quite lived up to the billing since coming from Bellator – making use lean even more in Gaethje’s favour in this fight.
