Best NFC Bet: Green Bay Packers are the Best Bet to Win the Super Bowl
Through 15 weeks of the 2021 NFL Season, the best team in the NFL is the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have arguably the best quarterback in the league, an All-Pro wide receiver, depth at running back and an offensive line that is about to get healthy.
Their defence has played well too – despite their two best players not playing for much of the season. They are expected back for the playoffs – which currently are set to run through Green Bay. Assuming Aaron Rodgers stays healthy – the best bet to win the Super Bowl is the Green Bay Packers
Best AFC Bet: No One wants to Face the Chiefs in the Playoffs
While the season started a little shaky for the Kansas City Chiefs, over the last two months they have rounded into form and are the biggest threat to the Green Bay Packers winning their first Super Bowl in a decade.
Patrick Mahomes is doing Patrick Mahomes things again, with his Week 15 performance against the Los Angeles Chargers (an enthralling 35-29 win in OT) showing when he is on, there is no one better in the business.
Of course, the issue was never really Mahomes (even if he sets a new career-high in interceptions), it was the defence. Well, heading into Week 16 of the season, the defence looks fixed. The unit is doing a much better job over the second half of the season. With them playing better, the Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC.
Best AFC Underdog: Could the Colts Run Over Everyone to a Super Bowl Win?
What the Colts are doing with three games left this season is as impressive as anyone. They have an MVP candidate at running back in Jonathan Taylor – who also gets to play behind one of the best offensive lines in football.
On the other side of the ball is a balanced defence with one exceptional trait – they force turnovers. Winning the turnover battle is highly correlated to winning games – and no team in the NFL forces more turnovers than the Indianapolis.
Carson Wentz is the biggest question mark for this team. However, he is playing smart football this season – with one of the lowest turnover rates in the NFL. He played well too – in a few games when the Colts needed to pass the ball. If he can play akin to Jimmy Garoppolo in 2019 (when the 49ers made the Super Bowl) or even turn into playoff Eli Manning, the Colts can beat anyone in the playoffs.
Best NFC Underdog Bet: Fly Eagles Fly
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now – getting back to .500 and right in the thick of the playoff race. One of the reasons the Eagles are soaring at the right time is their league-leading rushing attack. No team in the NFL this season has more rushing yards than the Eagles.
The rushing attack sprung out of almost nowhere – but is showing no signs of slowing down. The team has a deep backfield and with Jalen Hurts can run the ball on anyone. They also have some talent in the receiving core with Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert, who are each capable of making plays.
The defence is solid – able to keep the team in games when the offence starts slow. Darius Slay – when playing at his peak – is one of the best lockdown corners in the league. The linebacking core is also strong for the Eagles – with the unit capable of stopping the run and defending passes.
If the Eagles can get into the playoffs – they have a roster built for January football. It seems pretty likely they get in as they end the year against Dallas – who likely have locked up the division and resting their players.
