F1 2020 Season Predictions

F1 2020 Season Predictions
With the 2020 Formula 1 season about to start up, Formula 1 odds are open on the outright winner as well as on the winner of the Australian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton opens the year as the favourite to win in 2020. The six-time winner faces his biggest Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, who finished second, third and fourth overall in 2019.

Betting odds for the 2020 Formula 1 championship are open. Listed below, are the odds from Sports Interaction for the top-five drivers as well as Canadian Lance Stroll, who is a significant underdog.

Formula 1 2020 Outright Winner Betting Odds:

  • Lewis Hamilton -175
  • Max Verstappen +500
  • Charles Leclerc +550
  • Valtteri Bottas +800
  • Sebastian Vettel +100
  • Lance Stroll +200000

Formula 1 2020 Championship Pick

For our Formula betting predictions in 2020, we are sticking with the reigning champion Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton dominated the circuit in 2019, winning 11 races and finishing 87 points ahead of second-place Valtteri Bottas.

Hamilton is on the verge of history in 2020. Another title in 2020 will tie him with Michael Schumacher for the most Formula 1 championships. At this point in Hamilton’s career, his top goal is to tie and potentially pass Schumacher for the most titles. Why would the best driver in the world take his foot off the pedal now, with history within reach?

The answer, there is no reason for Hamilton to slow down. While he is fringing into the age drivers start to decline and retire, many of the top athletes in the world have proven they can continue to compete at an older age (think Tom Brady and Roger Federer).

Until Hamilton finally shows signs of decline, there is not much reason to bet against him winning. Sure, he will lose some races (including the first race of the year), but he remains the best bet to win the championship in 2020.

Pick: Lewis Hamilton (-175) to Win the 2020 Formula 1 Championship

Australian Grand Prix Odds

  • Lewis Hamilton +100
  • Valtteri Bottas +350
  • Max Verstappen +350
  • Charles Leclerc +550
  • Sebastian Vettel +700

Australian Grand Prix Betting Picks

While Lewis Hamilton has been the best driver in the world in the last decade, he has a pretty unspectacular history at the Australian Grand Prix.

Hamilton has two wins at the race, 2008 and 2015. He has been bested by Vettel three times since 2011 and lost to Valtteri Bottas in 2019.

Both Vettel and Bottas are offering better value to win in 2020. And with their history at the event, it is hard to make an F1 2020 driver prediction at the Australian Grand Prix without considering Vettel or Bottas.

While Vettel has more success at the race, Bottas is right now the better driver. Bottas won the race last year, even though Hamilton held pole position.

Pick: Valterri Bottas (+350) to Win the 2020 Australian Grand Prix
