Breeders Cup odds for 11 horses taking part in the main event are listed below. The Breeder Cup current odds suggest a tight race to close the event, with about half the field having a realistic shot of winning.
While McKinzie is the opening favourite on Breeders Cup 2019 odds, there is better betting odds value on some other horses at the event on Saturday.
McKinzie raced at Santa Anita in the Awesome Again Stakes back in September but finished second between Mongolian Groom and Higher Power.
The upset surprised many, considering the strength of the field in that race. The Breeders Cup, only five weeks later, features a stronger pack of competitors, including Mongolian Groom, Code of Honor and Math Wizard (who have all won their most recent starts).
Historically, on this race, horses with odds of +1500 or better have won 18 of the last 20. That makes of the three most recent winners Code of Honor the most interesting pick to win the 2019 Breeders Cup.
Code of Honor has won four of the seven races entered this year, including the last three. Code of Honor has also finished in the top three of eight of the nine races entered in the horse’s career.
These are impressive numbers coming into the Breeder Stakes and with good betting value to win at +450, bettors should focus their bets on Code of Honor to outright win.

Of the underdogs (odds of +1500 or more) to win, place or show at the Breeders Stakes Classic, the best horse to bet on is Mongolian Groom. Mongolian Groom has placed at three of their last four races overall.
Mongolian Groom also has an extensive horse racing history at Santa Anita Park. Mongolian Groom has raced eight times at the park, winning three times (which includes the Awesome Again Stakes in September).
While the competition is more robust this time around, the horse has shown enough that bettors can believe in his abilities to crack the top-three on Saturday evening.

Another of the races at the competition is the Distaff, which slates in on the schedule two races before the Classic. Current Breeders Cup Distaff odds are below, with a familiar name in the racing world topping the betting odds.
As mentioned above, one name in this group stands above the rest, and that is Midnight Bisou. Midnight Bisou is coming off seven straight stakes win and is the top-rated older female horse in North America.
Midnight Bisou raced in the Breeders Cup Distaff in 2018, placing third overall. In the year since the horse has only improved and now enters as the favourite.
Excluding last year at the Breeders Cup Distaff, the winner of this race has been four years of age or older. That fact should help make bettors even more confident Midnight Bisou will continue her torrid tear.
Midnight Bisou’s most significant competition comes from Elate. While bettors should not sleep on Elate’s skill on the track, they may want to be pessimistic in her chances to win since the horse is also slated to partake in the Classics to end the 2019 Breeders Stakes.
Look for Midnight Bisou to pick up her eighth straight win and cap off one of the best years for a horse (excluding Triple Crown winners) in reason history.
