Best NFL Picks Straight Up for Week 11

Week 11 of the National Football League season features 14 games total, with just about every matchup playing a role in deciding playoff teams. With so many big games, Week 11 is chalked full of betting opportunities and chances to make some cash. Going through every game, here are the best moneylines to wager on Week 11 of the NFL season.

Week 11 Preview NFL Moneylines

Week 11 brings with it two significant events in the NFL. First is the conclusion of bye-weeks. Second, every team in the league will have played ten games. The ten game mark in the NFL is typically the time to start separating teams into contenders, playoff hopefuls and the rest. This year in the NFL, the playoff race is close. All but six teams in the NFL are within two games of a playoff spot. Even less exciting games, like the one between the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens, could have huge playoff implications.

The best game of Week 11 could be between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams. Both teams sit at 7-2, tied with the Saints for the second-best record in the NFC. If the Vikings can win, they would hold a tiebreaker over both the Saints and the Rams for the second seed in the NFC. Other great games include the Saints hosting the Redskins, the Eagles heading to Dallas and the Patriots facing the Raiders in Mexico City.

Game Previews And Picks

The Cardinals open Week 11’s game in Houston as a small underdog, but both teams are dealing with injuries, and this line may move around before Sunday. The Cardinals will not be starting Drew Stanton on Sunday, instead turning to Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert is 0-4 in his career against the Texans, but since leaving the Jaguars, he has transformed into a serviceable backup, capable of winning a game or two. With how bad the Texans have been on both sides of the ball, since losing Watson, the Cardinals defence will be the deciding factor in this game.

In what is usually the perennial matchup of the two worst teams in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars (who may actually be good) enter this game as the biggest favourite they have been in a decade. The two teams have split their last ten meetings, with the Jaguars having a slight edge in scoring (outscoring the Browns 19.3 to 18.2).

The Browns may have a chance to pull off the upset this weekend. The Jaguars are surprisingly 3-1 on the road this season, but only 5-20 in their last 25 games away from Jacksonville. Going back to 2013, the Jaguars have just four road wins in November/December. The cold weather could cause enough problems for the Jaguars to slip up and lose.

The late bye-week for Baltimore should have the Ravens get healthy and ready for a postseason push. Their first test post-bye will be a road game in Green Bay. The Packers are coming off a big win in Chicago, keeping their postseason aspiration afloat while Aaron Rodgers recovers.

The Ravens defence is the story of this game. The unit is experienced, rested and hunger for redemption after a sloppy game in Week 9. The defence will zone in on the Packers running game, forcing the Packers to throw. The Ravens have the most interceptions in the NFL this season. The Ravens defence (and just enough offence from Joe Flacco, Mike Wallace and Alex Collins) should be enough for the Ravens to win in Green Bay.

The Redskins could pull off one of the biggest upsets of Week 11 when they visit the NFC South-leading New Orleans Saints. The Saints are currently on a six-game winning streak. However, outside of beating the Detroit Lions 52-38 (in what was one of the zaniest NFL games in recent memory), they have not been tested by great quarterbacking or big wide receivers (as they were in their losses to the Vikings and Patriots earlier in the season). The Redskins own a two-game winning streak against the Saints, scoring 87 points in the process. Cousins had his best career game against the Saints, throwing 324 yards, four TDs and posting a perfect quarterback rating.

With the train wreck that is the 2017 New York Giants, the Chiefs are a big favourite on Sunday, even as a road team. The Chiefs have one of the best formulas for beating the Giants, a spread offence with an elite tight end. Travis Kelce and Alex Smith should pick apart the Giants on Sunday, as their defence is a mess and, overall the team looks like it has given up on the season. Also, Andy Reid is 16-2 in his coaching career after the bye week. Take the Chiefs as the lock of the week.

Now that Derek Carr is fully healthy, having the bye-week to heal any lingering back issues, the Oakland Raiders could pull off the upset in Mexico City against the Patriots. Talent at wide receiver is one of the ingredients needed to upset the Patriots. Although the Patriots defence looks better in recent weeks, the group has not played an offence with as much talent Oakland, since they lost to the Carolina Panthers back in Week 4. It will also take a big game from Oakland defender, Kahlil Mack, who will be ready after the bye, for the Raiders to win.

The Eagles will aim to be the first nine-win team in the NFL this season as they enter Sunday night’s game in Dallas as the favourite. The Eagles are better in just about every statistical category over the Cowboys, controlling the ball better, putting up more points and allowing less. The Eagles are coming off their bye-week, giving the team time to incorporate recently acquired running back, Jay Ajayi, into their offence. The Cowboys looked lose with Ezekiel Elliot in Week 10, and now have to play an even tougher opponent in Week 11. Lastly, Dallas will be without Sean Lee, leaving them without their best offensive and defensive player in this crucial divisional matchup.

Two of the last three NFC Super Bowl representatives finish off Week 11, with a big showdown on Monday night. The Seahawks have extra-time to prepare for this game, having played on Thursday in Week 10. However, a few extra days is not enough time to make up for the loss of Richard Sherman. The All-Pro cornerback is out for the year, leaving a big hole in Seattle's secondary.

In a crazy twist of event, the Seahawks have reacquired cornerback Jeremy Lane from the Texans, but he is not nearly as good as Sherman. The Falcons are coming off their best game of the season and are 5-4 without much from Julio Jones. Jones is a rare receiver in the National Football League that can singlehandedly win a game for his team. Look for Jones and the Falcons to exploit the Seahawks weakened secondary.

Other Bets And A Look Ahead To Thanksgiving

There are a few non-moneyline bets to consider this weekend (all odds via Sports Interaction). Over 46.0 (-110) on the Los Angeles-Minnesota game is the best over bet to make this week. The two teams combined to score 155 points in their last two games. Both sides have good defences but will rely on it to make timely plays, not limit points in Week 11.

Other bets to consider include under 43.5 (-110) on the Tampa Bay-Miami makeup game and the Redskins at +8.0 (-110). The two Florida teams are incompetent on offence, while the Redskins were an 8.0 underdog two weeks ago and won.

Next week will see a full slate of games as bye weeks have finally concluded. Next week is also American Thanksgiving, which features three games starting at 12:30 PM EST. Although odds are not yet available, and a lot could transpire over the weekend, here are some early picks for next Thursday. Picks inlude the Vikings exacting some revenge against the Lions (the Lions won 16-13 last year on Thanksgiving), the Chargers upsetting a beat-up Cowboys team in the afternoon game and the Redskins winning at home against the lowly Giants to wrap up the day.
