NBA Atlantic Division Betting Lines

Despite containing two of the most popular franchises in the NBA, the Atlanctic Division has seen its share of hardships, with the Boston Celtics being the lone bright spot in the division, winning the title in 2008 after Garnett and Allen teamed up with Paul Pierce to form their version of a big three. Despite a trio of teams struggling to rebuild, this division is poised to gain momentum for more favourable odds when it comes to NBA atlantic division betting odds.

NBA Atlantic Standings

Only the legacy of the Boston Celtics prevents this division from being known as perhaps the worst in the history of the NBA. Considering the litany of strong teams put on the court throughout the decades, it’s no surprise that the Celtics have won ten more titles that all the rest of the teams in the division put together, including championships from the ABA before it merged with the association.

Unfortunately, due to questionable decisions made by front offices around the division, it’s likely going to be a while until another dominant team emerges from the atlantic. That being said, teams like the Raptors and Celtics have managed to turn it around as of late, surprising the NBA with unexpectedly solid regular season campaigns.

Typically, atlantic division teams, like other divisions in the NBA eastern conference, struggle to deal with road trips to the western conference, especially in the states of Texas and California, which have historically been the locales of the best western conference teams.

If you look hard enough, you can find sportsbooks that will facilitate pretty much any bet you can dream up, but for the most part, the standard for online betting tends to be moneyline betting on individual games. As the playoffs roll around and the matchups solidify, you’ll also be able to bet on the outcome of entire series.

At a glance, reading the moneylines will give you a good idea of the underdog, the favourite and the reward for correctly selecting the winning team. Underdogs will be listed as a positive moneyline, so if the Brooklyn Nets are listed as a +550, you’ll win $550 for betting $100 on the team. Favourites feature a negative moneyline. For a game where the Toronto Raptors moneyline is -250, you’ll need to wager $250 to win $100 on the match.

Depending on the online sportsbook that you team up with, you may be able to wager on proposition bets, such as an over/under on the number of points scored throughout the course of the game by both teams.
