Ducks at Predators NHL Playoff Betting Odds

Ducks at Predators NHL Playoff Betting Odds
I do love a Game 6! It's often better than the Game 7 that follows it. There's a great dynamic in Game 6. It's the hunter vs the hunted atmosphere. One team looking to stay alive for one more game and the other looking for the death blow.

Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators Game 6

In a pleasant surprise, Nashville‘s young players stepped up in Ryan Johansen’s absence, in a really big way and now they have the Ducks on the mat. Rarely-used Pontus Aberg scored the biggest goal of his progressional career, and did it in an all-out-balls-to-walls effort that his team needed. He lost a tooth during the process, and he had to be taken to the back for medical evaluation, while his team was fired up and held onto the lead. Meanwhile, Rinne stood tall in the net, stopping 32 of the 33 shots he faced.

On the other side of the ice, how many times can we talk about the Ducks being in trouble? They were down 2 games in the last series, but here they are. They certainly aren’t making it easy on themselves. They have only won a single game at home, all series long, and a shockingly small number of them over the playoffs for a team that has made it this far. Now, because of their latest home loss, they’re faced with a back-against-the-wall Game 6 in Nashville.

They’re also facing a barrage of their own injuries. Last game, they were without injured 30-goal scorers Rickard Rakell and Patrick Eaves. And add they lost starting goalie John Gibson to a lower-body injury between the first and second periods. It’s hard to imagine this team having much more left in the tank. The Ducks are being held together by duct tape (wooka wooka wooka).

I think Ducks can win this game and this series. I think they’re going to find a way. Tonight, they’ll be the wounded animal that bites to kill and defend itself. And I still feel like they will win the next game. I like this team’s ability to stay alive in the face of adversity. I do realize this requires them to win back-to-back games for the first time this series. And these will be the two hardest games they have had to win all year.
