New England Patriots Betting Lines

If you say the words New England Patriots to a football fan, they will be filled with either pride or rage. Nothing in between. They are the most polarizing team in the NFL, hands down. You could say that they are the New York Yankees of football. But, if you’re a Boston fan, you might say that the Yankees are the Patriots of baseball. In either case, they have been the most consistently awesome team over the last 20 years… [+]

…Under the (in Boston terms) wicked smart tutelage of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s frustrating greatness. They refuse to go away. They refuse to lose, and they refuse to stop rising your hatred to the Super Bowl. They have a mystique that no other team in the NFL has right now, and the opposing team will get far more “turnt” to play them than any other NFL team.

On Sept. 30, 2001, Tom Brady made his first career start at QB in place of the injured Drew Bledsoe. The rest, as they say, is history and the team has been in charge ever since that handsome young quarterback stepped in for an already-great player. Brady is still the current face of the franchise. But they have also been the home for Hall of Fame names, such as Stanley Morgan, Ben Coates, Jim Nance, Sam Cunningham, Drew Bledsoe, Jon Morris, Troy Brown, Tedy Bruschi, Ty Law, Willie McGinest, and Houston Antwine. They play their home games at Gillette Stadium, located in Foxborough, Massachusetts, 24 miles (39 km) southwest of downtown Boston.

If you’re looking to place a bet on them, odds are good it’s a really good idea. It hasn’t been a bad idea to bet on this team in years. They are the class of the NFL and are famous for an offensive system that puts Brady at the center of it all, and gets the most from all of its high-profile/ high pay weapons. You can bet on them having a strong regular season, even if they get off to a slow start, and people declare the end of the dynasty. Pundits have said this many times, and been dead wrong. But there they are, making the playoffs year after year.
